Day in the Life: Amy Morgan
In this month’s WorkL World Magazine, our very own Workplace Consultant, Amy Morgan, shares insights into her dynamic role at 360 Workplace. As Amy puts it: "As a Workplace Consultant at 360 Workplace, I can confidently say that no two days are ever quite the same – and that’s exactly how I like it."
Her days are a blend of strategic planning, team collaboration, and continuous learning - all of which she thrives on.
How does a morning kick off for a Workplace Consultant?
I’ll be honest, I love making the most of my mornings by getting as much sleep as I can! If I’m heading into our London studio, it often means a quick dash out the door! Once I’m on the train, I settle into my commute by reading a good book or listening to a podcast. On the days I’m driving to our Windsor studio, my morning routine takes a different turn. I’ll find a good radio station and sing my heart out (very badly, I must admit) – it’s my way of getting energised for the day ahead!
When I arrive at the office, the first thing I do is find a desk and set up my workspace. Breakfast is usually just cereal and a glass of water, but it gives me the fuel I need to get started. Once I’ve settled in, I dive into my emails and check the day’s activities, mapping out a plan of action to make sure I’m prepared for whatever comes my way.
What Are the Core Responsibilities of a Workplace Consultant?
My core responsibilities can change a lot depending on the phase of the projects I’m working on, which is something I really enjoy. One day, I might be deep in the planning stages, and the next, I could be overseeing the implementation of a workplace strategy to support employee wellbeing. I might also spend time expanding my own knowledge on a specific workplace topic or delivering a roundtable on our latest research. This variety keeps things exciting and ensures I’m always learning something new.
The variety is one of the best parts of my job – there’s never a dull moment!
How Important Is Team Collaboration at 360 Workplace?
One of the things I value most about working at 360 Workplace is the incredible sense of collaboration. I genuinely feel like I’m part of the most supportive and collaborative team I’ve ever worked with.
We have weekly team meetings, daily interactions, project meetings, and workshop planning sessions, where we all work to each other’s strengths. It’s not just about getting the job done; it’s about making sure that no stone is left unturned and that we’re always producing the best possible results. We bounce ideas off each other, offer support, and celebrate successes together – it’s a real team effort.
What Motivates a Workplace Consultant?
What motivates me most in my role is the constant opportunity to learn. Workplace consultancy is such an evolving topic, and there’s always something new to discover. I’m naturally inquisitive and love understanding how people perform at their best and how businesses operate effectively. We’re all different, and seeing how these differences manifest in the workplace is fascinating. I also get a real buzz from watching strategies come to life through the eyes of our design team. Although I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the most creative person, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how our insights and strategies translate into real, effective workplace designs.
What Makes the Role of a Workplace Consultant at 360 Workplace So Fulfilling?
For me, being a Workplace Consultant at 360 Workplace is all about embracing the variety, working collaboratively, and constantly seeking out opportunities to grow. From my morning dash to catch the train, to the challenges and triumphs of working with such a talented team, every day is an adventure. It’s this combination of teamwork, variety, and a passion for helping people and businesses thrive that makes my job so fulfilling.
