What We Did
In order to obtain a more in-depth understanding of how TRL works and utilises its space, 360 Workplace undertook an in-depth three-stage Workplace Strategy; A 4-week utilisation study to determine how well and/or under utilised the space is, highlighting key areas and spaces needing attention. An online staff survey to ensure all staff had the opportunity to share their thoughts and provide anonymous feedback on their current space and aspirations for the further smart workplace. Finally, conducting a total of 9 senior leadership interviews, including Finance, HR, Marketing, Engineering and the CEO, to gain further understanding of the business, how it operates and to challenge and test any appetite that exists to adopt a new way of working.
The Outcome
TRL’s workplace utilisation was found to be 47%. This enabled the client to make some key decisions on property rationalisation. With a co-ordinated approach between 360 Workplace and Area, a streamlined design encompassing new ways of working and shared work facilities was presented to the client which enabled office disposal and yielded increased revenues for the business.
